<lj:music>Sambomaster - 夜が明けたら</lj:music>

I actually have fun stuff to update!

-I've been going out with friends more, lately. Sure, all we do is go to the bar, have a few beers and suck at pool, but it beats staying home listening to music all night. Plus the bar we go to has this really tasty Belgian White called Shock Top that is also inexpensive ($2.50 a pint).

-Cara called me last night! We're probably going to Jon's (Jon King who lives up the street, not Cambridgey Jon) fire tonight. She also asked if I wanted to go to some folk music festival with her later this summer. =D

-On that topic, I've been listening to a lot of folk-punk lately. Chuck Ragan, I heart you.

-Work's not going too bad. I got put in charge of a redundant stupid-assed project that (like everything else we do at this warehouse) just fixes fuck-ups made by the main warehouse. No raise or anything, but they put their trust and respect in me, plus I actually have someone working under me. We're hauling through this thing, and anyone that's seen my Twitter knows we're finishing everything wicked early and playing a lot of stickball to kill time.

-I'm hanging out with Darci this afternoon! Oh Darci. I haven't seen her in what seems like forever, but is really just a month. It's funny how much you miss your school friends when it's just phone calls and texts instead of hanging out every day.

-SPEAKING OF. Darci, her friend Jep, and I snagged VIP packages for a Weezer/Blink 182 concert at the end of August, at SPAC. Finally, I get to see Weezer! And we're sitting about three rows back. =D

    <lj:music>Ted Leo/Rx - Me and Mia</lj:music>

Wow! This has been and still is quite a hectic weekend. Yesterday, after classes (OMG GAUGER WASN'T THERE, ACCOUNTING CLASS WAS CANCELLED!!!!), I went back to North Adams and got a haircut. Luckily, that happened so quickly that I ended up catching the 2:00 bus back to Adams. Actually that kinda sucks cos I wanted to stop at the C&S for a sandwich and a chai, but oh well.

Hey Shane, why the hell would you go back to Adams?

I'm glad you asked. MY GRANDMA LIVES THURR, durr. My uncle was coming in from Boston (on bweeznass, but I'll get to that later) with his girlfriend for the weekend, and since I'm going to the game with dad tonight, we had dinner last night instead of tonight.

Nyom, nyom. My grandma had made stuffed shells with chicken and such, and a vegetarian lasagne for Laurie (the girlfriend) because obviously, she doesn't eat meat. But it was so good that we all ended up eating that instead of the shells. After this we all just hung around for a while and whatnot, telling funny stories. Turns out that due to my uncle's bweeznass working with Reebok, he can hook me up with that Bruins jersey I'd mentioned a few posts back. FUCKING AWESOME. I just need to shoot him an email with the style number (which, so I don't forget, is 2525126). Oh, and he brought canoli and tiramisu from the North End with him. Holy. Yum. Comma. Batman.

He also said that when I go to Boston, I should take a day on CommAv. checking out some of the college campuses. Great idea, I wish I'd thought of it. He seems to think that Northeastern would be a great school for me. I can't say that I disagree, although as long as I'm going to school in Boston, I wouldn't care where. Wends, Nicki, do you know anything about NU?

So here's today's schedule:
2:30: Dad picks me up
5:00: Hockey game
9:30: Going to see The Burdens (husband/wife indie rock thing from Williamstown) at the Mohawk.

And then waking up early tomorrow morning for breakfast at my grandparents with Jeff and Laurie. BUSY! Good thing I don't have a ton of homework this weekend.

    <lj:music>The Black Maria -</lj:music>

This is a double entry! OMG!

Part one will be my reviews of the CDs and samplers I got yesterday..let's go!

All Left Out - "Never Say Never" - 4.25/5. The accents give it an extra quarter point! I can't think of another band that has accents while singing aside from Cock Sparrer. Pop-punk not at its best, but DAMN close. It's catchy and it makes you want to bounce around.

I Scream Records - "Summer 2006 Sampler" - haven't actually listened to the whole thing yet, but what I've heard isn't too bad.

Topshelf Records - "2006 Northeast Sampler" - 3.5/5. Lots of ska, punk, and rock! Topshelf only has TWO bands on their roster (Aeroplane 1929 and Sixfinger), and they are both represented, along with bands from Eyeball, Ocean, etc..

Victory Records - "Free Music Sampler" - 3.5/5. I really like the two songs by The Black Maria, but the other band (On The Last Day)..eh. Alright.

Vaux - Promo EP - 4.5/5. The first two songs from "Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice", and another song called "Celibate Good Times". Kicks serious ass.

Vaux - "At The Fox Theatre 8.13.05" DVD - 4.5/5. Three songs from BVBV and "Set It To Blow". I say 4.5 because it's not seeing them in person, and that is at least a 6/5.

Vaux - "Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice" - 5/5. Revolver gave it 5/5, and so am I. It fuckin' rocks. Go buy it.

No, I'm serious. Go buy it right now!

Speaking of yesterday..Tori, I talked to Kat, and I just have to bring her some duct tape. I'll do that this weekend and send finished wallet/CD/money to you next weekend. \m/ My mom also thinks the pictures are awesome!

So I got to work this morning and um..omg. Warped kickbacks. I obviously didn't drink enough water yesterday or something. I got to first break and I could barely even move. So I came home at 9:20, took a nap, and have been heavily hydrating all day. Next year..taking the day after off, as well.

Bleh. =/

    <lj:music>Dungen - Sjutton</lj:music>

Today has already been exponentially better than yesterday!

I got up a little late (like seriously, 10:00), took a shower and called my grandma. We went down to BCC and I got my apps all filled in for there, yay! She then took me to lunch at Arizona Pizza. Awesome place. All the TVs at the bar were turned onto the Tunisia - Saudi Arabia game, and I had a great view, so I may be a bit biased. The guy that waited on us was one of the franchiseers (is that a word?). It was like looking into a time machine! Guy was wearing a soccer t-shirt (Though it was the Revs instead of say..United or Celtic), Levis, and Converse. Exactly what I was wearing. Different t-shirts though. But um, yeah. We got kokopelli pizza, which was absolutely delicious.

Afterwards, she brought me to Cascade before dropping me off at home. I start on Monday morning! Jooooooooooooooooooorb! Finally. =)

I probably won't see/talk to any of you guys later because the Steeplecats are at home! At least the PA guy gives Sox updates every half inning. I should maybe bring a radio with me. But yay finally getting out of the house and doing shit!

Oh. And when I was in the shower, I came up with the first lyrics for my little faux-grindcore project! The first song is tentitively titled "Caerbannog".

    <lj:music>Bad Religion - Looking In</lj:music>

So my mom, not realizing that I was supposed to go to the Sox game with Meg goes over my head, calls my dad, and makes him take a day off of work so he can take me to the game. x.O wtf. Baseball is best enjoyed in the company of Meg. =P

So boooo, I won't see her until August, and that makes me completely sad, and I even had a bit of a cry about it in the shower. Although if said August trip ends up working out with the PawSox and Cats scheds (aka road game in Newport), I will be one very happy dude. Especially cos I'm going to Warped with Tori like two weeks beforehand! Yay Warped! August will rock harder than (see below for hard rocking).

(hard rocking here)
I'm hoping tonight that my mom help me de-stickerfy my Firebird, cos if Nate wants to take a ride to Pittsfield tomorrow, I'm gonna bring it down to Wood Brothers and trade it in for one of their Squier Teles (if they still have them..one's an HH Custom and the other's a Standard HS). Decovering of humbuckers will ensue. I don't like covered humbuckers, unless it's like an ES-335 or an SG. -shrug- Hurrr. If i can get like $300 for it, I'll pick up a distortion pedal too. CRUNCH! I'm gonna get a Telecaster!

Pool later on today? I hope so. Fancy stickwork will make this day better.

    <lj:music>Royksopp - Poor Leno</lj:music>

I have a mix of The Postal Service's "We Will Become Silhouettes" and "Institutionalized" from Suicidal Tendancies in my head. Listening to Royksopp does NOT help.

Yesterday was pretty..alright. We filmed the scenes for Alicia's stuff in cinema, where she slaps me. We did it once, and screwed up..so we had to do it again, and she fucking nailed me, it was so loud. And it was effing perfect...except that Doug accidentally recorded the next scene over it. x.x Always have problems with that camera. Arg.

I caught the end of the Reds - Mets game yesterday afternoon. It was pretty good..Mets were up 6-4 going into the bottom of the ninth. First batter got on, then Adam Dunn hit a homer to tie it. Then the next guy up..can't remember his name..home run to win it for the Reds. Good baseball, that.
And yeah, it fucking hurt like a bitch.

-sighness- Nikki can't come here for prom. Effing sucks. ;-; Arg.

We talked like 4 times yesterday. heh. When i get my first paycheck in June, I'm putting like 150 bucks on my phone so I can call her more and not worry about running out of money/time. And then another 20 or so towards first payment on a guitar. I'm either getting the epi LP studio and making it awesome, like the Les Paul of my dreams, or a Gibson LP Melody Maker, which is basically the old Les Paul Junior. hmmmmmm.

    <lj:music>Sum 41 - The Bitter End</lj:music>

Attention! My cell number is now 413-652-9975.

and um, Sum 41's new album is AWESOME. I give it erm..4.6 out of 5. 4.5, but an extra .1 cos The Bitter End has a total Metallica feel to it. \m/!

Oh. My grandparents ended up giving me 150 bucks, so I'll have payments until like, september on my Les Paul. Yay!!

christmas quotes of the day!

"A Jazzmaster is ALWAYS more important than a lady!"
-Jeph Jaques (creator of QC, which I think only Dan reads, of everyone who reads my journal) replying to my email

"Drip-proof ice cream?"
"No!...that's a fucking brilliant idea, though."
Donald Trump and Ali G

    <lj:music>CKY - Knee Deep</lj:music>

Today was pretty decent. Mr. P's back, but we dropped government today, which is good, cos I didn't completely finish the assignment from Wednesday, so I can do that over the weekend. I just need to finish the section 2 review.

All my other classes were pretty much laid back and we did nothing. Funny conversations/drawings in physics, but that's the norm from Colin. Spent study hall like usual, chilling in Ms. Babeu's room and surfing the internets.

I'm thinking about opening up a cafepress store, and sell shirts and whatnot. I want to get a nice picture of the NHL logo, and photoshop it so it says RIP instead of NHL, for the shirt design. Nikki, could you help me with that if you have time?

Errrrg. I can't WAIT to get my guitar. Squee, Les Paul. The only thing is that the wah-wah pedal's not gonna be in stock until new years..so I'll just get that some other time. I can do with distortion and phase for right now. Why not? That's Peter Brugger's (Sportfreunde Stiller) entire rig. Gibson '67 Flying V>Phase 90>DS-1>Vox AC30. I'll go with it, although I'm not exactly sure he uses that phaser, but there is some on Ein Kompliment.

And of course, Grooove tonight is gonna absolutely kick arse. =)

Quotes of the day:

The entire Pope/Superpope discussion between me, Colin, Tom, Jon, and Seth in physics

"I mean, I don't like emo, but I'm sick of people who just bitch about how much they hate it."
-Colin at lunch

You told me you would be here by my side
Warming my heart on this cold winter's night
Here I sit waiting beside the tree all by myself

You told me you would move heaven and earth
Filling my spirits with laughter and mirth
Here I sit waiting beside the tree all by myself

Oh, could you ever know how much I care?
Could you ever know that out somewhere
There's a boy who really hurts?

I think both of weezer's christmas songs fully explain why the holidays depress the fuck outta me.

After resizing some (one, cos Jess and Meg were bugging me) of the Homecoming pictures down, I've come to two conclusions:

1. I look way better in person. When I see myself in the mirror, I think I look kinda cute. When I see myself in pictures...blech. Ugly.

2. <lj:music>Sportfreunde Stiller - Siehst du das genauo? (video)</lj:music>

Today at school was pretty boring. In government, Mr. P. moved me across the room (usually I sit next to erin, i had to sit next to casual bob today) because I didn't do my homework..I don't see what the point was. It's not like moving me away from someone I talk to and next to someone else I talk to is gonna make me do my homework. I was gonna do it, too. I just forgot last night. =/ Study hall was pretty fun, I went to the library and looked up weird stuff on eBay with Anthony and Mallory. This weekend should be pretty fun..Groove tomorrow night, then probably hanging with Colin saturday, Rats game saturday night, and then probably hanging out with Trevor on Sunday.

What else happened today..hmm. I downloaded the videos for "Siehst du das Genauso?" (which i'm watching right now), and "Ein Kompliment".

Quote of the day:
"Mr. P, can I move back to my seat? I'm afraid Bob's conservative views are going to rub off on me."
-Me being goofy in gov't.
